WALES/ENGLAND – Legal Aid Update April 2013 – Funding Guidance

The Lord Chancellor’s Guidance on Civil Legal Aid and Exceptional Funding, both are applicable from 1st April 2013, and based on Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012.

You can also find supplementary guidance on the domestic violence requirements set out in the Civil Legal Aid (Procedure) Regulations 2012, which takes effect from 1st April 2013.

 

Lord Chancellor’s Guidance on Civil Legal Aid

This is guidance issued by the Lord Chancellor to the Director of Legal Aid Casework in determining whether an applicant qualifies for civil legal services. This guidance refers to certain statutory instruments, which are still subject to Parliamentary approval.

Director of Legal Aid Casework guidance on evidence requirements for private family law matters

This guidance is issued to provide further detail on the information needed to satisfy the domestic violence and child protection evidence requirements prescribed in Procedure Regulations 33 and 34.
