Select Committees

 

What do Select Committees do?

Much of the work of the House of Commons and the House of Lords takes place in committees, which examine issues in detail, from government policy to proposed new laws.

  • Justice Committee

    Justice Committee appointed by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Ministry of Justice and its associated public bodies including the Family Courts.

  • Work and Pensions Committee

    Work and Pensions Committee appointed by the House of Commons to examine the expenditure, administration and policy of the Department for Work and Pensions and its associated public bodies including Child Maintenance and Enforcement Commission.
